Before & After

In March, after 9 months of looking at the sad state of the "garden" area outside our back door, we decided to finally revamp it. Shannon got some good soil from his parents' place out in Odenville and built a lovely garden box for us. We planted flowers and tomato plants all from seed and transplanted our telstar mix from the giant pots we had them in. After a late frost and many nights of covering our seedlings and hoping for the best, our garden began to bloom beautifully in May. By June, the drought had taken its toll and killed our bachelor buttons and most of our snapdragons. Our lovely marigolds fell victim to some heinous webbing insects, but the Before & After is still pretty great! Our telstar and our tomato plants are hanging in there and now that we're finally getting some rain, we're hopeful for a lot of green!
