The Beltline

We went on a tour of the proposed Beltline corridor this morning. It was a really cool tour - very informative. It's a really ambitious project, but a great concept. You should check out the website - http://www.beltline.org and more info below!

The BeltLine Partnership provides a free, narrated bus tour of the BeltLine on Friday and Saturday mornings at 9:30 a.m. Climb aboard the BeltLine tour bus and sit back to learn about the BeltLine concept and history; to hear details and updates regarding project planning, implementation and development; and to witness first hand the transformative effect the project will have on BeltLine neighborhoods and the City of Atlanta. There is simply no better way to learn about the BeltLine than to take a tour!

BeltLine tours depart from the Inman Park MARTA station, located at 1055 Dekalb Avenue, NE, Atlanta, GA 30307 (see directions), promptly at 9:30 a.m. and return by 12:30 p.m. Participants must check in at 9:15 a.m.

The BeltLine tour includes a brief rest stop in West End and provides the only public access to Bellwood Quarry, the future site of Westside Reservoir and Park. Be among the first to view the this incredible site as it transitions from active quarry to city reservoir and park!

NOTE: We are quickly approaching the end of BeltLine tours for 2008 and all of our seats are now reserved! We are no longer accepting reservations for November or December tours. Reservations for 2009 dates will not be accepted until mid-January 2009. Check back frequently as we will post any openings for the final tour dates, as well as details about 2009 tours and reservations, here when available.

Also, you may sign up for closed dates as a stand-by participant. Insert the date you would prefer to take the tour and we will contact you in the event of a cancellation on that date. Or, consider stopping by the Inman Park MARTA station on the morning of a tour. We can't guarantee seats, but there is always a chance of a last minute opening or cancellation!
