Weekend recap

Shannon at the Delta Museum
Summer is officially here, and we got a great dose of it this weekend :) I was in DC all week for meetings, but made it back in time to spend Saturday and Sunday at home. Finally!

Jeremy and Mary @ Park Tavern
On Saturday, we had a blast at the Delta Block Party  - the annual summer shindig Delta throws for employees and their families. After pigging out on yummy chick-fil-a sandwiches and all kinds of not-good-for-us goodies, we enjoyed an awesome show by this year's band, Toad the Wet Sprocket - one of our favorite 90s bands (last year's band was none other than Sister Hazel! Hard to top that in my book).

On Sunday, we met Jeremy at Piedmont Park for Unplugged in the Park, their Sunday night summer concert series. Matthew Perryman Jones was playing, and he was AWESOME. We rode our bikes there in the summer sun and heat, and while the hills were a bit of a challenge for me (read: I thought I might die;), Shannon coasted (pun always intended) along, no problems. It was really fun, even if it was a challenge for little ol' out-of-shape me, and I loved being out in the summer night together in our new 'hood. It's so convenient. I can't get enough! You can see the google map of our route here. Just about 6 miles round-trip. Not too shabby, eh?

In between these super fun weekend festivities, we took it easy and caught up on our reading and tv shows, etc. Plenty of chi-snuggles mixed in there as well, of course!
