For Mom's fiftieth birthday this past weekend, Ali, Liz and I planned a weekend celebration full of food, wine and crafting! On Friday, we enjoyed a gorgeous bellini brunch, and spent all day cooking delicious seafood for that evening, as well as Saturday's festivities. On Saturday, Mom's girlfriend Elsa came over, as well as Aunt Tammy, and we painted wine glasses (they turned out awesome!) and had a wine tasting paired with some of Mom's favorites. It was so much fun!

Mom's gift was wine and food- themed too, of course. We made her a beautiful book filled with favorite recipes from family and friends (see it here), and we got her her very own giant wine glass, aptly named, of course: Kevin Costner.

For those who don't follow, Courtney Cox's character on CougarTown (arguably the best show on television) has a giant wine glass named Big Carl (who was succeeded by Big Lou, Big Joe, etc.).

I had my very own Big Chuck, until he met an unfortunate end earlier this year, nearly killing me on his way out. So when I found two of these beauts, I got one for me (Brian Austin Green), and one for Mom (Kevin Costner). Day. Better. You're WELCOME.
